Process for New Clients

The typical process we adopt for introducing new clients to Life Balance Financial Professionals is summarised below:

1.    Discovery meeting – we start with an obligation free one hour meeting to discuss and learn about your family, values and objectives.  We also discuss your existing financial strategy (if one exists), investment structures used and the composition of your portfolios.  By the end of the meeting we can typically inform you whether or not we believe we can add value to your situation.

2.    Conceptual Strategy & Risk Preferences – If we can add value to your situation, we ask for more information to enable us to prepare a conceptual strategy for you.  This will include gaining an understanding of your tolerance to risk and their need to have exposure to risk.

3.    Engagement & Advice Preparation – we present the conceptual strategy to you in a face to face meeting, together with the costs of implementing the strategy.  If you are happy to engage us, we sign a Client Agreement confirming our role and scope of services and proceed with the formal documentation of our advice.

All our client strategies are tailored to meet individual needs, and typically involve us liaising with your accountant, tax adviser, estate planning lawyer or stockbroker to ensure a common alignment in strategy and thinking.

4.    Advice Presentation – we present our formal recommendations in person, sometimes to the wider family unit if appropriate.  Once we have discussed the reasoning for our recommendations and you are happy to proceed, the client signs off on the recommendations.

5.    Implementation – Implementation only commences once the recommendations have been approved by you.  The time taken to implement the strategy will depend on the complexity of the strategy and your current situation.

6.    Ongoing Periodic Reviews – a timetable for formal reviews of strategy and investment portfolios is agreed with you.  Typically formal reviews occur once or twice per year.  However, all you can contact us at any time to raise issues you require assistance with.
